Rex Graham Reserve

rex graham reserve M Fairhurst

This small chalk pit lying deep within Thetford Forest has the largest colony of military orchid in Britain. In fact the reserve is named after the local botanist who discovered them. Other plants include heavily scented mezereon with its rosy-pink flowers, twayblade, pyramidal orchid and adder’s tongue. Moonwort can be found in the network of rides in the surrounding forest together with a wide range of butterflies such as the orange tip and speckled wood.
