Shotley Peninsula local group

We are a small friendly group with a committee of ten.  We put on open meetings through the year from January to April and from September to November.  We also run surveys and usually stage one major fundraising event each year.

If you were to volunteer to help...

...you could be involved in such tasks as manufacture of dormouse tubes; barn owl boxes or making a salad or dessert!  Our Survey Group runs continuous projects such as walking the shoreline (Stour and Orwell); walking woods (Wherstead and Freston) and also looking at known and new dormouse sites.  We are watching butterflies and dragonflies and just about anything involved with nature.

Comments from the group...

"I love coming to these meetings, where else could you get a cheap night out with excellent presentations and slides".

"Will any type of carpet do for the reptile heaps?   We saw a magnificent slow worm under foam backed carpet!"
