Felixstowe local group

We are a busy, friendly group committed to encouraging people of all ages to enjoy and learn about their local environment and wildlife.  We are also keen to raise funds to support local wildlife projects.  Throughout the winter we hold monthly evening talk and slide shows on topics ranging from the wildlife in far off places to Suffolk birds, flowers, stag beetles and badgers.  In the summer months we organise weekly Friday evening nature walks to local hidden away beauty spots; the evening is then rounded off in a nearby inn.  Our major fundraising events are a general knowledge quiz in February and a gardens open afternoon in July.

Many of our members also help out in more practical ways at work parties on our local nature reserves such as Trimley Marshes, Newbourne Springs and Landguard Point.  The work parties are always fun, they are an excellent way of meeting like-minded people, of keeping fit and of course helping to protect our wildlife.

We are always very pleased to welcome new faces at any of our events.
